Dr. Dante Pascali is currently an Assistant Professor and Urogynecology Division Head in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Ottawa. He received his medical degree from Queen's University in 1998 and his Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2003. Since completing a clinical fellowship in Urogynaecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2005, he has been actively involved with undergraduate and postgraduate education. His clinical and research interests focus on the evaluation and treatment of female pelvic floor prolapse and incontinence.

David Baud, MD PhD is a specialist in materno-fetal medicine (MFM) and is presently working as staff in the University Hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and operative Gynecology. After his PhD in the Institute of Microbiology-Lausanne, he trained at various hospitals worldwide including Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto (2010-2012), Hopital Necker in Paris (2009-2010) and St-Mary’s Hospital in London, UK (2004-2005), with which he continues active research and clinical collaborations. His current research focuses on emerging infectious causes of adverse pregnancy outcomes.

The underlying theme of his research work is improving pregnancy related maternal and fetal outcomes both at the short and longer term. He runs an active clinical academic programme for the prediction, recognition and management of childbirth-related perineal trauma and a basic science programme exploring the effect of of maternal nutrition on the fetal epigenome. Khalid Ismail is internationally recognised for his clinical expertise in the field of perinatal medicine. His collaborative work in this area has resulted in several systematic reviews and clinical trials that informed evidence based medicine and its implementation into practice.
Khalid has won several awards including the University College London Dean’s award for teaching, The Stoke and North Staffordshire Citizen’s of the year award for medical innovation and a UK national award for clinical excellence.
Professor Ismail is the Chair of the European Perineal Trauma PEERS group.
